Robert Lucas

Robert E. Lucas, 87, of Tremont, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

He was born April 14, 1937 in Pekin to George E. and Carrie H. Luft Lucas.  He married Lois Stuber on March 10, 1957 in Tremont, and she passed away March 24, 2016.

Surviving are his children, Rita Fox of Morton, Jane (Roy) Schroeder and Chad (Jamie) Lucas, both of Tremont; nine grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He graduated from Tremont High School in 1955.

Bob worked at Stuber Builder’s for a few years, worked for Libby’s raising vegetable crops, and farmed for himself in the Tremont area raising crops and livestock.

He was a member of Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont, served on the Soil and Water Conservation District Board, and served on the Dillon Cemetery Board for over 25 years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Don Stuber will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home/  Burial will be in Dillon Cemetery, rural Tremont.

Memorials may be made to the Dillon Cemetery.
