Robert Wright

Robert “Bob” Wright, 83, of Pekin, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born April 7, 1941 in Peoria to Wilburn and Mary McDermott Wright.  He married Lucy Hyde in October 1963.  He later married Jan Slusher Windle in June 1980 in Pekin, and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Cindy (Rob) Haggard of Pekin and Jeff (Julie Carter) Wright of Pekin; three grandchildren, Raymond Cornejo of Oakland, CA, Brandon Wright of East Peoria, and Haley Haggard of Pekin; one brother, Jim Wright of Daytona Beach, FL; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepdaughter, Stacey Windle; and one brother, Tom Wright.

Bob worked at Fleming Potter in Peoria as a lithographer for over 30 years.

He attended the Tremont Baptist Church and was a member of the Pekin Moose Lodge.

He was a master woodworker, where he drew up the plans and craft wooden airplanes and trucks to scale.  Bob enjoyed watching western movies and making old home movies starting in the early 1960’s.  He and Jan enjoyed spending winters in Florida for many years.

His funeral will be at 11:00 am Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Pastor Noah Lee will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Tremont.
