Robert “Bob” Byron Notter, Jr of Mackinaw, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 19, 2026.  Born August 28, 1942, Bob grew up on the South side of Chicago.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Katherine C Moon of Peoria, and brother-in-law Stephen Struckmeyer of, MI.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Notter of Mackinaw, IL, sons Daniel of Chicago, IL, Robert III (Amy) of Gilberts, IL and daughter Kerry (Dustin) Schmidgall of Mackinaw, IL; one brother Byron (Cathy) Notter of Lemont, IL two sisters; Marianne Struckmeyer of Kalamazoo, MI, and Colleen (Raphael) Albert of Lockport, IL, and one sister in law Mary Ellen Connolly of Leesburg, FL.

After raising his family in Palatine, Bob and Joan spent several years in Leesburg, Florida.  Bob made many special friendships there and enjoyed time on the golf course.  His favorite times were when his family came to visit.  Bob and Joan moved to Mackinaw, IL in 2025. He loved the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees.  His quick wit and dry sense of humor will be missed by many.  Above all else, he loved his family very much.
