Ronald Stuber Obituary

Ronald L. Stuber, 75, of Pekin, passed away at 1:41 am Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his home.

 

He was born October 22, 1944 in Pekin to Benjamin and Elsie Endress Stuber. He married Lois Bennett on September 24, 1966 in Bartonville, and she survives.

 

Also surviving are one son, Craig (Mendy) Stuber of Pekin; one daughter, Kena (Mark) Gasper of Delavan; five grandchildren, Preston Robinson, Darri Stuber, Madalyn Stuber, Abigail Gasper and Amelia Gasper; two brothers, Milton (Susan) Stuber of Bartonville and Gordon Stuber of Tremont.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Curtis Stuber.

 

Ronald graduated from Tremont High School in 1962, then attended trade schools in electronics and explosives.

 

He was a member of the Society of Explosive Engineers, 50-year member of Labors Local Union 231 where he was an executive board member for of 25 years, and was an active member of the Musicians Union for over 25 years.

 

He played live music since he was 16 years old until he was 75. He built and collected antique cars including a 1928 Model A Coupe and a 1958 Chevy Impala.

 

His funeral will be at 3:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2020 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Don Stuber will officiate. A visitation will be from 12 noon to 3:00 pm before the service on Friday. CDC regulations for COVID-19 will be followed. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Peoria Rescue Mission or Salvation Army.
