Roy D. Neville, 88, of Tremont, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Hopedale Nursing Home.
He was born June 5, 1936 in Tremont to Roy L. and Fern Pleines Neville. He married Darlene L. Wineburner on November 15, 1959 in Tremont, and she passed away June 14, 2016.
Surviving are his children, Patti (Tim) Pattillo of Tremont and Darren Neville; and one sister, Leona (Dan) Yordy of Morton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roy graduated from Tremont High School where he lettered in basketball, baseball, football, and track all four years.
Roy served in the United Staes Army from 1956 to 1958 serving in Germany.
He owned and operated Roy Neville Building, where he remodeled and built new homes for many years.
He was a member of the Illinois State Stock Horse Association for over 30 years and participated in the 100-mile trail ride, serving a term as director for our region. He was a member of the Tremont Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed trap shooting. He enjoyed trail riding with family and friends along with doing farrier work. He was a true outdoorsman and always up for an adventure.
Cremation has been accorded. A private family graveside will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
