Ruth A Hillman

Ruth A. Hillman, 91, of Tremont, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at her home.

She was born January 17, 1933 in Pekin to Philip and Dorothea Hill Kumpf. She married Harold O. Hillman on June 30, 1951 in Pekin, and he passed away March 22, 1994.

Surviving are her children, Julie (Ronald) Koch, Joan (David) Uhlman, Joseph (Sheryll) Hillman, all of Tremont, and Jeffrey (Casandra) Hillman of Windsor, CA; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 18 great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Long of Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, David; one step granddaughter, Cheri  Jo Wilcox; and one brother, Eugene "Bud"  Kumpf.

Ruth worked at Dr. Galat's Dental Office in Tremont as a receptionist for many years.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin, Tazewell County Home Extension, and played in a card club with her friends.

She enjoyed traveling, crossword and crypto puzzles, and celebrating her grandchildren's birthdays by making them cakes, and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Davis Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Pastor Daniel Bishop will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 am Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
