Sandra C. VanDyke

Sandra C. VanDyke, 77, of Delavan, went to Heaven on Monday, April 4, 2022 at her home. 

She was born December 17, 1944 to Edward and Bernadine Hutchison Wethington.  She married Larry D. Van Dyke on June 1, 1962, and he survives. 

Also surviving are one son, James (Rose) VanDyke of Delavan; four grandchildren, Tabitha (Jessie) Keayes of Delavan, James R. (Nishirya) VanDyke of Houston, TX, Lance Connett of Delavan, and Dean Van Dyke of Pekin; and seven great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Linda Wethington; one son, Larry Lee VanDyke; and one daughter, Julie C. Connett. 

Sandra attended Delavan Community School graduating with honors with the Class of 1962. 

She worked for the U.S. P.S. for 27 years, serving as Postmaster 20 years, retiring in 2000. 

She enjoyed reading, embroidery, spending time with family and always extended a listening ear to friends. 

She was a member of Prairie Bible Church in Delavan, where her funeral will be at 11:00 am Thursday, April 7, 2022.  Pastor Dan Larimore will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 am Thursday, also at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
