Sharon K. Schultz-Hinderliter, 59, of Minier passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at her home.
She was born July 6, 1963 in Bloomington to Carlyle and Darlene Cochran Schultz.
Surviving are one daughter, Eugenia K. Hinderliter of Springfield; three grandchildren, Brayden, Lillian, and Izabella Wooden of Springfield; four brothers, David (Donna) Schultz of Covell, James (Deb) Schultz of Clinton, IN, Charles (Shelly) Schultz of Minier, and Steven Schultz of Minier; two sisters, Kathleen Schultz-Martin of Minier, and Lynda (Jeff) Bahnsen of Bloomington; and her fur babies, Jakie and Dolly.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharon worked at Illinois State University as a campus police officer for many years before retiring in May of 2015.
She served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman from October 7, 1981 to December 7, 1992. She also played volleyball in the military where she traveled to many different countries to compete.
She enjoyed crocheting, boating, vacationing, reading, cooking, and dancing. Most of all she loved being a grandma.
She was a member of the Minier Christian Church, where a memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 10, 2022. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Minier Cemetery with military honors accorded. The family would like to invite all to join them back to the church for a time of food and fellowship. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier is handling the arrangements.
