Shawn L Elliott

Shawn L. Elliott, 68, of Washington IL, passed away on December 26, 2025 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

He was born April 19, 1957 in Peoria, IL to Luella and Clyde Elliott. 

Surviving are his life partner, Cindee Simpson, son, Adam Elliott (Katherine), one grandson, Jordan, and one granddaughter Abigail, all of East Peoria. Also surviving are three brothers, Kevin (Deb) Elliott, Bob (Becky) Elliott and Bruce (Connie) Elliott. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Keith Elliott.

Shawn grew up in Deer Creek, Illinois and joined the Army after graduating from Dee-Mack High School in 1975. His service took him to Japan, Germany, and several state-side locations. Shawn retired as an E-5 Sergeant. He was proud of his 20 years of service to his country. After his service, he worked locally as a small engine mechanic.

He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved cheering on and attending travel baseball games that were coached by his son, Adam. This was a tradition that has been carried on through the generations. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Shawn was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt deer and turkey. His enthusiasm for nature led him to be a long-time member of the Izaak Walton League of America as he supported conservation efforts.  

Services will be held at the Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home at 501 S. Orchard St. Mackinaw, IL 61755 on Saturday, January 10, 2026. The visitation will be 9:00-10:00 am with a service following at 10:00 am. A graveside ceremony with military honors will be immediately following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Washington, Illinois.
