He was born in Peoria, Illinois at St. Francis, on January 15, 1981, to Susan (Kroeger) and Eddie Estes.
Surviving to cherish his memory are, his mother, Susan (Kroeger) Estes of Mackinaw, Father, Eddie Estes of East Peoria; his Step-Mother, Bonnie (Haedicke) Estes of East Peoria; his grandmother, Beverly J. Estes of North Pekin; one brother, Chris (Kim) Estes of Brimfield; one sister, Angie Estes of Mackinaw; three nieces, Brittany and Jamie of Brimfield and Alexa of Mackinaw; three nephews, Cole of Mackinaw and Luke and Logan of Brimfield; aunts, and uncles and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles F. Estes Sr., and grandfather, Edwin Kroeger, grandmother, Shirley Kroeger, and his aunt, Laurie Kroeger.
Shawn attended Dee-Mack High School where he played sports and was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Mackinaw.
He loved the Bears and Cubs and enjoyed watching them play on television.
He was an avid mushroom hunter, loved fishing whenever he could. His biggest joy was playing fantasy football with his father, brother, and his friends. Like in real life, he played to win and talked a lot of smack.
Shawn’s strongest trait was caring, giving, loving, and protecting his family and friends. He would give what he had no matter the cost to him, if a friend needed it more.
In short, he was a man of God, believed in God’s word, and tried to be the man God expected of him.
