Shawn A. Geary

Shawn A. Geary, 51, of Delavan, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born September 18, 1971 in Pekin to Larry and Margaret (Sutton) Geary. Shawn married Amber Lenz on May 22, 2010, in Washington, whom survives him in death.

Also surviving are his eight children; Bryce (Tamrah Arnold) Geary of Pekin, Karson Geary of Delavan, Ashlynn Geary and fiancé Tom Moss of Delavan, Mya Geary of Delavan, Dakota Guilliams, Jordan Graham, Preston Graham, and Brionna Graham of Delavan. His grandchildren Wyatt, Amiliah, Adelynn Moss, and his brother Jayme (Ashley) Geary of Manito, survive him as well.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Breelynn Moss.

Shawn worked at Boyle Tool for 18 years as a machinist. He was a Jack-of-all-trades, as he was very mechanically inclined. Shawn served in the Army during “Operating Desert Storm”. He loved spending time with his family and going fishing with his dad. He also enjoyed watching Nascar and was an dog lover.

His funeral will be at 11:30 am Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan.  Pastor Dan Laramore will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 Thursday, also at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
