Shawn Michael Sarver, 35, formerly of Marquette Heights, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home.
He was born October 6, 1989 in Peoria to James and Traci Lynn Wallis Sarver. He married Jamie Marie Oden on June 26, 2015 in Pekin, and she survives in Eureka.
Also surviving are his eight-year-old son, Jorie Michael Sarver of Eureka; his mother and stepfather, who raised him as his own son, Traci Lynn (Shawn) Dickinson of Bartonville; step-mother, Allison Sarver of GA; mother in law, Trishia Cornwell of Pekin; grandfather and step grandmother, Doug and Ilona Sarver of Seneca, SC, grandparents, Wanda and Jerry Wallis of Marquette Heights, and Tom and Arlinda DeFord of The Villages, FL; one brother, Chandler (Alexandria) Sarver of UT; one sister, Ashley Dickinson of Bartonville; one nephew, Vincent Hall of Manito; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Cornwell of Peoria and David Young of East Peoria; one sister-in-law, Amber Cornwell of Pekin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Sarver; father-in-law, Brian Cornwell; one uncle, Bill Compton; and his best friend, Derrick Summers.
Shawn graduated from Pekin High School and worked in the IT industry for 15 years, last working at the Hopedale Agri Center in Hopedale.
He was a member of Revive Church in East Peoria, where he served on the worship team, co-leader in the men’s ministry, children’s ministry teacher, and a singer on the worship team.
Shawn was an individual who was always thinking and full of ideas, a true entrepreneur, owning and operating Netforge LLC.
He had a deep love for Jesus and was known for his strong convictions and sharp wit. His sarcasm and spirited opinions made him unforgettable to those who knew him. His son, Jorie, was his whole world.
He enjoyed video gaming, cooking, and was a conspiracy theorist, and just a funny guy to be around.
His funeral will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Revive Church, 3212 Springfield Rd. East Peoria, with Pastor Robert Finley and Pastor Russell Dunne officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, and one hour before the service, also at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
