Sheila Barnette

Sheila J. Barnette, 92, of Tremont, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Pekin Manor.

She was born February 14, 1933 in Peoria to Leonard and Theresa Cavoretto Cotton. She married Clarence “Barney” Barnette Jr. on May 10, 1952   and he passed away July 31, 2015.

Surviving are one daughter, Lori (Todd Porter) Fields of Mesa, AZ; five grandchildren, Craig, Chris (Brooke), Ashley, Madison, and Caitlin; five great grandchildren, Sydney, Reid, Izzie, Bryden, Alya; and one brother, Clyde (Nancy) Cotton of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Lita Sieg.

Sheila worked as a produce manager at various grocery stores.

She was a member of the Tremont Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening, and participated in a bowling league. 

Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Friday, May 23, 2025 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Pastor Noah Lee will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 am Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
