Sheila Bell Obituary

Sheila Mae (Sutter) Bell, 62, a native of Morton, Illinois and a resident of Savannah, Georgia passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer.

Born on May 13, 1963, in Peoria, Illinois, to Wayne and Bernice Sutter. Sheila graduated with her master’s degree from Lindenwood University, then shortly after started her 30+ years of work in the mental health field as a therapist.

Sheila is known for her passion for helping others, her loyalty to family and friends and for being an amazing co-worker. Her career reflected her devotion to helping others, providing wonderful advice, her loving personality and the natural ability to immediately gain the trust of others. Sheila was a caregiver for all ages. She started her career as a social worker, traveled around to different elementary schools to host group counseling sessions, spent several years traveling the world to different miliary bases and circled back around to spend the final months of her career back in the school helping children. Sheila consistently puts others first even when she needed care for herself.

Sheila’s greatest joy was being a loving mother to Tera and Bradley and grandmother to Bennett and Asher. She enjoyed making memories of going to the beach with her grandchildren, traveling to different countries with her son and sharing the passion her daughter had for cheerleading and gymnastics.

Aside from spending time with family and friends she had a passion for traveling around the world, learning about other cultures, taking Zumba classes and being on the beach listening to the ocean.

Sheila is survived by her daughter, Tera Kristin Baker (Jeff); son Bradley Ryan Bell (Chelsea Williams); father, Dr. Wayne Elmer Sutter; grandchildren, Bennett Scott Baker and Asher James Baker; sister, Shirley Ellen Brown (John); sister, Sharon Kay Richmond (Tim); brother, Roger Wayne Sutter and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Bernice Ellen Sutter.

Sheila will be greatly missed, but we find comfort knowing that she is no longer in pain and has been welcomed home by our heavenly father.
