Sherry McDonald Obituary

Sherry Ann McDonald, 73, of Tremont, passed away on Friday, September 30th, 2023 at her home.

She was born September 8th, 1950 in Tremont to George G. and Eileen L. Bohlander Hinman.

She married Patrick McDonald on December 30th, 1971 in Pekin and he preceded her in death on February 2nd, 1993.


Surviving are one son, Robert McDonald of Mackinaw, and a daughter Kelly Fernandes (Mike) of Bloomington along with five grandchildren, Patrick and Hannah McDonald, Alex and Kylie Fernandes; and a great grandchild Luna McDonald.   Also surviving are two brothers, George Hinman of Peoria, Ken (Carolyn) Hinman of Tremont; four sisters, Kay Cunningham of Pekin,  Eva Lyn (Wayne) Mohr, Judy Reidner, Diana Davis, all of Tremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kerry Hinman and four sisters, Phyllis Smith, Carol Grubb, Kathleen Bertke and Janet DuBois.

She worked and retired from the Library Store in Tremont on August 25th, 2015.

Sherry was a member of the Tremont Baptist Church.

Sherry was an avid shopper and treasured spending time with friends and family.

As per Sherry's wishes cremation has been accorded there will be a private graveside service for family members at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Tremont where Pastor Noah Lee will officiate.

In lieu of a visitation a celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 1236 located at 24584 E Lake Windermere Road in Tremont, IL 61568 on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 from 3pm to 7pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Susan G Komen Foundation or the Tremont Betterment Association.
