Shirley Marx Koch, 86, of East Peoria, passed away, Friday, December 10, 2021 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born April 27, 1935, in Peoria to Rudolph and Dora Hoffman Marx. She married Larry Koch on July 3, 1959, in Peoria and he survives.
Also surviving are four children, Lisa (Greg) Paige of Boca Raton, FL, Carla M. Koch of Plano, TX, Stephen (Ann) Koch of Greenfield, WI, and Kristen (Mervyn) Rodricks of Plano, TX; four grandchildren, Nicholas Koch of Chicago, Jamie Koch of Greenfield, WI, Madison Paige (Fiancé Bill Leonard) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Amanda Paige of Boca Raton, FL; many nieces and nephews and one cousin, Al Marx of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three uncles.
Shirley was a kindergarten teacher and a literary teacher for adult education.
She was a member of P.E.O. , AAUW, and was a 4-H Leader. She was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1984.
She loved traveling, music, attending Bradley basketball games with Larry, desserts of all kinds and spending time with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 am Monday, December 20, 2021 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Ted Witzig Jr. will officiate. A visitation will be from 9:15-10:00 before the service at the funeral home.
