Susan L. Getz

Susan L. Getz passed away on February 14, 2025 at the age of 77 to be with her Savior in Heaven.

She was born January 24, 1948 in Fairbury to Edward and Jean Lehman Orth.  Both parents preceded her in death.

She married James E. Getz on July 20, 1968 in Morton. He preceded her in death in 1989.

Surviving are her four children: Greg (Kathy) Getz of Tremont, Jamie (Yancey) Foster of Port Neches, TX, Scott (Kristene) Getz  of Tremont,  Kara (Scott) Spees of East Peoria.

Nine grandchildren: Jesse (Lauren) Getz, Abigail Getz, Yancey (Jensen) Foster III, Madison (Austin) Krautz, James Getz, Jenna Getz, Bradley Getz, Austin Getz, Dakota Klein and five great-grandkids.

She is also survived by one brother, Greg (Marj) Orth of Morton and sister LuAnn (Rex) Pratt of East Peoria.

Susan worked at Morton then East Peoria Kroger until her retirement.

She enjoyed doing diamond art, collecting gems, NASCAR and spending time with her grandkids and family.

She also leaves behind her beloved french bulldog, Gary. He was more than a pet to her, he was her companion and entertainment and she loved him so much.

A private family only funeral will be held on Monday February 24, 2025 at Davis-Oswald funeral home in Tremont.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude or the American Heart Association.
