Suzanne Payne Obituary

Suzanne Payne, 76, of Mackinaw, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at her home.

 

She was born February 10, 1946 in Bloomington to Harold E. and Mildred M. Roberts Vielhak.  She married Gary L. Payne on January 11, 1964 at the Mackinaw Baptist Church, and he survives.

 

Also surviving are her children, Mike (Marci) Payne of Mackinaw, Randy (Amy) Payne of Mackinaw, Kim (Larry) Whitaker of Minier, and Tammie Payne of Mackinaw; 11 grandchildren, Amanda, Randi, and Laura Payne, Chris Templeton, Luke, Brandon, Brady, and Lainey Whitaker, Aleigh and Hannah Payne, and Jadyn Payne; four great grandchildren, Gabby, Barrett, Channing, and Trace Whitaker; and one brother, Gary (Reba) Vielhak of Mackinaw.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Larry.

 

Suzanne graduated from Dee-Mack High School in 1964 and then attended beautician school.  She opened a beauty salon operating out of her home for many years.  She also had a love of photography and did many weddings over the years.

 

She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, and making homemade noodles.

 

She was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Mackinaw, where her funeral will be at 10:30 am Thursday, December 29, 2022.  Pastor Tim Sievert will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.  Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements.

 

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
