Ted Dirks

Ted Dirks, 61, of Delavan, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his home.

He was born January 18, 1962 to Albert and Karen Shoven Dirks.  He married Valerie Thompson and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Christopher (Hanna) Dirks of Mahomet, Jeremy (LaZadrea Thomas) Dirks of Mt. Vernon, Logan (Emily) Dirks of Morton, Garrett Dirks of Mt. Vernon, and stepsons,  Jesse Thompson and Cody Thompson; 14 grandchildren, Peyton, Owen, Grayson, Jackson, Alorra, Jay, Easton, Lucy, Daisy, Lillian, Amilyanna, Braleigh, Kash, and Wyatt; one brother, Jeff (Faye) Dirks of McDonough, GA; and two sisters, Joni Dirks Ellis and Brenda (Rex) Forbes, both of Delavan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Katherine.

Ted was a plant operator at  Ag-Land FS retiring in February of 2022.

He enjoyed racing, from drag racing his own car, going to NHRA, NASCAR and many local drag races.  He loved going camping down by the river, watching the boats go by and enjoying time with good friends.

Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of Ted’s life will be at a later date.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
