Terry Pomrenke Obituary

Terry Lee Pomrenke, 83, of Pekin, passed away Monday July 14, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. 

He was born July 13, 1942 in Delavan to David and Ruth Godby Pomrenke.  He married Judy Livengood Pomrenke on January 5, 1964 in Delavan, and she survives. 

Alsa surviving are his daughter Dalinn Pomrenke of Pekin; two grandchildren Ryan (Brittany) Pomrenke and Samantha Pomrenke; four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Norma Jean “Jeanie” Pomrenke; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Todd Pomrenke; three brothers; and one sister.

Terry graduated from Delavan High School and entered the Caterpillar apprenticeship program after high school.  He attended classes at Bradley University during his career at Caterpillar.  He worked at Caterpillar traveling the world as a quality control engineer.

He spent many hours doing remodel projects for friends and family. 

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pekin, the Moose lodge and Sunset Hills Country Club in Pekin. 

He enjoyed many hobbies in his retirement years.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and creating stained glass.  He was a Chicago Cubs fan and an avid Chicago Bears fan.  He loved to dance and spend time listening to his vinyl records. 

Cremation has been accorded.  A private graveside will be at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan at a later date.  There will be no visitation.  Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
