Thelma Schall

Thelma Marie Schall, 78, of Pontiac, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL.

She was born on June 18, 1945, in Bloomington to Joseph and Vera Marie (Bell) Hershe. Thelma married John William Schall on June 27, 1963, in Pontiac, and he passed away on April 10, 2014.

Thelma is survived by her brother, Bob Hershe and her sister, Barbara Bailey; her sons, Clyde Schall, John Alen Schall, and her daughter, Pamala Sue Schall. Also surviving are six grandchildren, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Schall, three brothers; Butch, Larry, and Bill Hershe, and two sisters; Nancy Enamen, and Linda Merideth.

She worked for R.R. Donnelley for over 35 years operating binding machinery.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a caring and loving mother, always making sure that her son “John John” was taking care of, until her very last days. She also enjoyed sitting on her porch in the summer watching people walk and drive by.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw are handling the arrangements.
