Timothy Jon Klaus

Timothy Jon Klaus, 77,  of Tremont, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family. 

He was born February 20, 1949 in Peoria to Ernest R. and Vera Binkele Klaus.  He married Carole Riggenbach on April 4, 1970 in East Peoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Elizabeth “Beth” (Rick) Scheuermann, Philip (Jenny) Klaus, and Paul (Tiffany) Klaus, all of Tremont; grandchildren, Tressa (Grant) English, Sara Scheuermann, Hannah (Matthew) Schaefer, Tanner Klaus, Reagan Klaus, Garrett Klaus, Lilly Klaus, Connor Klaus, and Kaden Klaus; one brother, Steve Klaus of Peoria; one sister-in-law, Diane Klaus of MN; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Carol Boich and Shirley Klaus; one brother, Ronald Klaus; and one brother-in-law, Arnold Boich.

Tim graduated from Dunlap High School and attended the Caterpillar Electrical Apprenticeship program.

He first worked at Caterpillar Inc. and later worked at Morton Metalcraft.

He was a member of Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont, where he served as Elder and taught Sunday school.

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont.  Micah Manningham will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday, also at the church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
