Trula A. (Thomas) Cummings

Trula “Trudi” A. Cummings, 70, of Tremont, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Unity Point Health-Pekin.

She was born June 25, 1950 in Peoria to Robert and Lois Thomas. She married Joe Cummings on December 23, 1972 in Pekin, and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Juli Cranwill and Rachelle Parn, both of Tremont; one son, Clay (Carrie) Cummings of Pekin; four grandchildren, Anna and Audrey Parn of Tremont, Cooper and Cate Cummings of Pekin; one brother, Dave (Wanda) Thomas of Pekin; one sister in law, Sheryl Thomas of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Thomas.

She worked at Caterpillar Foundry, Kroger Deli and Cheese Shop, Pekin Public Schools Central kitchen, Earthly Goods, and then retired when she became a grandma to her four grandchildren, who were the joy of her heart.

Trudi was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, former member of the Tremont Betterment Association, serving as General Chairman of the Tremont Turkey Festival in 1992, and a former member of the Pekin Moose Lodge. She was a member of the Tremont United Methodist Church where she led an adult Sunday School class and a life group. She was a devoted follower of Christ.

She valued the importance of family and friends and was the hub of the family, connecting everyone from across the country. She liked telling stories and talking to family, friends, and even strangers. She loved to travel, watching her kids and grandkids sporting events, helping people, and playing cards. Trudi was a diehard Cubs fan.

A private family funeral will be at 10:00 am Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Tremont United Methodist Church. Pastor Larry Frank will officiate. The service will be live streamed on the Davis-Oswald Funeral Home Facebook page. A public visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the church. CDC guidelines will be followed, and masks are required. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
