Verla Radford

Verla M. Radford, 86, of Tremont, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

She was born January 31, 1938 in East Peoria to Milo H. and Olga S. Rider Ropp.  She married Rondal R. Radford on December 15, 1971 and he passed away July 15, 1978.

Surviving are two stepsons, Kevin and Craig Radford; one sister-in-law, Judy Ropp of Tremont; and three brothers, Roger (Janet) Ropp, Warren Ropp, and Earl (Sherry) Ropp, all of Tremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leo, Howard, and Wayne; two nephews, Mark Ropp and Tony Ropp; and one niece, Darlene Stephens; and one nephew, Rodney Ropp.

Verla worked at Tazewell County Circuit Clerk’s Office for 37 years, worked at Bonnie’s Café in Tremont for many years, and also  helped raise her niece, Darlene, and also her son, Jeremy, whom she adored.

She loved to ride on the motorcycle with her husband, bowl, and was a Chicago Bulls fan, and attended country concerts and fanfare numerous times.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:15 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
