Virginia I Michael

Virginia I. Micheal, 100, passed away to be with the Lord at 10:15 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Carle Bromenn Medical Center in Normal. 

Virginia was born on June 25, 1924, in Mackinaw to George & Florence (Klein) Schmidgall. She married Paul Michael on November 6 1949, in Normal.

She is survived by one son, Larry (Barb) Michael of Normal; three grandchildren, Jeramy (Tiffany Ellsworth) Michael of Normal, Katie (Warren) Darnall of Normal, and Kyle (Mary) Horn of Peoria; six great-grandchildren, Arik Michael, Ethan (Alyssa Gargus) Michael, Ayla (Russell) Shugart, Vinny Armstrong, Drew Ellsworth, and Tyson Horn, and 2 great-great-grandchildren Eli and Maverick Shugart.  Also surviving is her sister Eleanor (Will) Uhlman and Sister-in-law Lucy Schmidgall.

Virgina was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter Lynn, one sister, and six brothers.

She retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1989.  She was a member of the Minier Assembly of God Church in Minier.

Virginia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She was active and on the go up until the time of her death. She will be in our hearts forever.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Minier Assembly of God Church in Minier.  Visitation will be before the service at 12:30 p.m.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the care and compassion shown by the doctors, nurses, and staff at Carle Bromenn Medical Center, Carle Hospice, and Evergreen Place Assisted Living. 

Memorials may be made to Minier Assembly of God Church in Minier or a charity of the donor’s choice.
