Wilma Mammen Obituary

Wilma M. (Medlin) Mammen, 87, of Delavan, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

She was born August 31, 1935 in Mound City to John W. and Helen B. Black Frick.  She married William B. Medlin on January 6, 1951, and he passed away May 16, 1993.  She then married Jerry Rae Mammen on September 25, 1993, and he passed away April 5, 2010.

Surviving are her children, Carol (Richard) Thomas of Goodfield, John (Nancy) Medlin of Normal, Linda (Mark) Reader of Pekin, and Rhonda (Greg) Zook of East Peoria;  13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Sharp of Olmsted.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Billy; one infant daughter, Barbara; one grandchild; one great grandchild; one brother, Charles Frick; and one sister, Catherine Ford.

Wilma was a homemaker and a faithful  and active member of Prairie Bible Church in Delavan, where she was involved with the Kid’s Club and VBS. She was also a member of  the Ladies Missionary Group at the First Baptist Church in Manito, and TOPS Delavan Chapter.

She enjoyed cooking and baking and playing Bunco.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Prairie Bible Church in Delavan.  Pastor Dan Larimore will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, also at the church.  Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
